Hello La Shonda,

The question of the week is do you have passion in your work? In your present work situation do you feel eager and excited to go to work or to be there? On average people spend about 50 hours a week or more dealing with work. That is equal to about two full days a week or one full week a month or 3 full months out of a year. I think we all can agree that is a lot of time out of our lives. For you to spend this much time on something you are not passionate about or enthusiastic about is probably draining your energy. This energy drain now impacts other arears of your life (ex: family time, intimate relationship time, fun time etc…). We need to stop that! So the question lingers what do you do?

Tips for the week:

       1. You may know by now I love list. So make a list of all the things you don’t like about work or that drain you. Do not judge the list, just brainstorm and write. After you make the list review it make sure it is complete. The next step is to see if there are items on the list you can change. For example if you start your day in traffic can you ask your boss to change your hours a bit so you miss rush hour or can you do work from home the first few hour of the morning? Another issues may be during the day you do not fuel your body properly so maybe create a meal plan for work. Buy health packaged snack that you enjoy and keep at work. Make the goal to change 3 things that drain you. 



  2. If you are a person that has a passion for your work this one is for you. If you have a co-worker that finds work draining and if they are willing to listen give them some suggestion to make their work experience better. You can be the example for others. Let your light shine so others who want to can follow your example.

** Even if you don’t have a passion for your work try this one it may help you feel better about the workplace.
